Kobe Bryant Top 10 Plays 2012-2013

The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles, California. They play in the Pacific Divison of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, which they share with their local NBA rival, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Kings of the NHL, and the Sparks of the WNBA. The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA, and have won 16 championships, their last being in the year of 2010. As of 2013, the Lakers are the second most valuable NBA franchise according to Forbes, and they have an estimated vaule of about 1 billion dollars!!

2013 Playoffs: After a tumultous season that saw the Lakers fire their first coach of the season, Mike Brown, and switch to an interim coach and finally the new coach Mike Dantoni mid season, they made made the playoffs with the 7th seed after going on a rally after the All Star Break to overcome an embarrasing 17-25 record to ultimately make the playoffs. Most of these problems stemmed from the coaching change, and a big part was injuries. Dwight Howard played through pain all year, Steve Nash missed 34 games, Paul Gasol missed 33 games, and Kobe Bryant put the team on his back to will them to the playoffs, but after tons of minutes, and wear and tear on his body, he tore his Achilles tendon right before the playoffs and missed the postseason, and will miss some of next season. As a result, the Lakers were swept by the San Antonio Spurs and now approach the offseason with uncertainty about whether Dwight Howard will resign, or Pau Gasol will be traded.
