The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are members of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League. The team has been in existence since 1924, entering the league as the first United States based expansion franchise. Their home arena is the TD Garden, where they have played since 1995 after leaving the Boston Garden (which had been their home since 1928).
This year the Boston Bruins had a chance to play in the Winter Classic at Fenway Park. The Bruins played against the Philadelphia Flyers on January 1, 2010. This is a tradition every year for the chosen teams to play outside in a baseball park. This year the Bruins, Marc Sturm, scored the game winning goal in overtime to beat the Flyers 2-1.
